Mannequin Woes

Perfectly rigid you stand there staring.
That same sweet smile upon your face.
Naturally flawless with your plastic skin,
Appearing empty headed, soulless within.

Like a drone, you go about your daily life.
You come across superficial and shallow,
Walking along in your picture perfect world,
Disregarding all the glances and sneers.

People see your statue like features,
Judging without a word.
Ignoring what they don't see,
The faulty girl inside your plastic shell.

Desperate to break free from your cage,
Willing for them to see the soul you possess.
Turning to the crowd, you try to speak;
They turn away instead.

Alone you stand there, an image of perfection,
Trying to shed a tear, wanting to be human.
Slowly you become what everyone sees, a mannequin;
As your face cracks from the sadness.

Now that the mask has cracked, it flakes away.
Piece by piece the plastic flesh falls to the ground.
Crumbling, your body breaks;
Revealing what has been hidden inside.

A face once faultless, now poxed with imperfections;
Revealing true happiness, nothing is fake.
Rushing forward, towards the world;
Reaching out, with each step you take.

Again you find the crowd and try to speak,
But you are stopped with disbelief.
Catcalls and looks of disgust you meet.
Acceptance, is just a dream.

Tainted Purity

Little porcelain doll,
With skin as smooth as ivory silk.
Rose colored cheeks, a cherry blossom smile.
Quietly sitting upon the down feather bed.

She sits and watches the world go by,
With sparkling glass eyes.
Taking in every moment, every word;
Emotionless, never stirring from where she rests.

As the world grows darker from words of hate,
The doll is tossed from where she lay.
She falls, crashing to the floor below.
Her once perfect face now cracked, her smile is broken.

She lays beaten, battered, beyond repair;
But the world is blinded by anger and greed.
No one notices the dying girl upon the ground,
Nor the tears that fall from her empty eyes.

She cries for the damned upon the earth,
Unable to scream out her fears.
Growing colder with time, the world is lost;
As death kisses purity's fragile lips.

Two Faced Stranger

A puppet master with strings made of words,
You put on the greatest show of them all.
Blinding the world left and right,
Dazzling me with that crooked smile.

Painting a picture with colors of deceit,
I fall helplessly into your work of art.
You knew what words to use on me,
Playing with all my hopes and dreams.

Speaking words of love and adoration,
Singing a song that hypnotizes my soul.
Once I am caught in your web of music,
You break me like a string on that beat up guitar.

Unfortunately you're the fool in this little play.
Full of flaws; you're just a fake.
Alone you will remain upon center stage,
Continually playing your two faced masquerade.

Unattainable Love

First meeting, within an instant
You have me, I'm yours.
Our eyes catch and my stomach flutters,
But you wear your mask so well.

Time passes with more glances.
Leaving me to fall helplessly,
Hoping you will catch me with your arms.
But still a statue you remain, unmoved and grounded.

My heart is finally consumed by you,
Given freely by my choice.
Anxiously I await to hear your voice,
But your silence echoes within my soul.

Broken now as the moments linger,
Confused, my mind aches from flooded thought.
Why must I always fall for the statuesque?
For that unattainable love.

Facets of Rain

Sprinkles of sorrow leak from puffy clouds,
As the sky turns to a tinted blue gray.
Salty like tears as they fall upon a nameless face,
Blending into the sadness that one feels.

Sprinkles now turn into dancing droplets,
Lifting the spirits of the ones on the surface.
The water brings life to all it touches.
Refreshing as the light of a new day.

Thunder rolls in as the wind blows harshly,
Spitting rain drops made of glass shards.
Angry and unruly, pruning the already dead and decayed.
Making the new life strong with every gust.

Soon the storm passes leaving a light tasting mist.
Sparkling; as the sun bounces from each crystalline drop.
Another day reveals itself at the end of a color filled rainbow,
Awaiting the next life altering storm.

Doubts

One moment of happiness,
Brings thousands of doubting thoughts.
With every fleeting minute,
The cloudier the mind becomes with second guesses.

Can the moment of joy
Truly be real, or is it all a fairy tale?
Why must the mind paint such lies,
Or is it a weakness that I believe them?

Unwanted questions with missing answers.
Why can't my heart and mind just trust?
Is this self protection,
Or do I just corrupt all happy thoughts?

Soon happiness darkens down the path of sadness.
Leaving me alone with just my thoughts.
In the end I know one true fact,
Doubts will be the only thing left.

Beyond Regret

Loose actions bring filth and decay,
Spoiling the skin as it peels away as rancid flakes.
No amount of holy water can wash away,
Or take away the nauseating taste.

Whoring out the body for carnal desires,
Leaves the child empty; as shallow as her thoughts.
She killed her friends with words of acid,
Nobody could love a girl with no remorse for actions.

As judgment day soon approaches,
She gathers into the crawling pile of flesh.
The bodies all around her scream out for forgiveness,
As the dark lord now approaches for one last test.

The time comes now for the girl to take the stand,
Pulling away from the grabbing arms of the damned,
As they ride south to hell's layers of agony and justice.
Looking to the lord, she drops to her knees with a plea.

Shaking words escape her lips but have no meaning in the end.
Do you regret? Stops her pleas echoing the fear of the dead.
The child remains silent, though one word could save her,
From the agonizing future that laid ahead.

Time passes, slowly creeping to the dreaded end,
As her head shakes beyond the will of its master.
The lord now has his answers as she is ripped away,
Taken by the chains that pull at her bloodied flesh.

There was only one answer that she could ever possibly give.
For a girl who caused such misery,
With no remorse on the earth's living soil.
Is beyond regret at hell's fiery door.

Hope

Choppers buzzing in the air,
As chaos scrambles upon the ground.
Screams of terror breaks the sound.

Pleas of help reach ears of saviors.
Struggling to save lives of strangers.
Praying that the last string doesn't snap.

So much effort in a world of horror.
Trying to save the purest thing; a life.
Gives us hope for a brighter future.

Hope, the strongest concept ever created;
By endless dreams and possibilities.
Makes one think that everything will be alright.

Keep hoping, dreaming, and praying
For those that continue to struggle upon this earth.
Powerful words beyond anything imaginable.

*Inspired by the lost lives in Minnesota, all the loved ones are in my prayers.

Judgment Day

Words flow out of enraged lips,
As the mind slowly becomes an empty void.
The words now become meaningless.
Only the sharpness of tone pierces through,
Destroying the target's soul.

Statements and expressions spew freely from the mouth.
Still going, never ceasing to stop hurting.
Dreams are shattered as they crumble to the floor.
Slowly the innocent is erased from the world,
By the elite judgmental monster.

No matter if words are meaningless,
They still burn and scorn.
Try thinking before attacking.
Open up the ears and listen to the screams,
Of all those broken dreams.

All caused by simpleminded judgments.

Betrayal

Two choices.
One fate.
Which path to take.

One path full of lies.
Yet no hearts will break.
Is this the right path to take?

One path unveiling truth.
Hearts will ache but learn to heal.
Is this the right path to take?

Two streams break at the rivers end.
One rough while the other is still.
No idea what the end will reveal.

No matter which path is taken,
There will be hurt and pain.
Just one question still remains.

Which is the better choice of betrayal?

Forgotten Child

I walk as a shadow.
Empty within this living shell.
From moment to moment.
Alive yet untouchable.

Two eyes without a soul.
Wandering lost among the crowd.
Unnoticed and ignored.
Like an old warn out doll.

Unwanted by family.
No friends would claim me.
Hopeless and heartless.
Broken beyond repair.

A cold breeze flows by.
Sweeping me away to nothingness.
Not even a shadow remains.
My existence erased from a page.

Unwritten my life now is.
Forgotten by all I loved.
No fleeting thoughts or cares.
About the girl that I once was.

Endless Dreams

Houses made from cardboard.
Turn into rocket ships.
Taking you to a magical world.
Inside your childhood dreams.

Fairytale love stories.
Embellish first kiss.
Adventurous tales of friendship.
Awakens the young mind.

Wishes of success.
Enlightens the aging mind.
To be somebody and achieve.
Grows within college bound dreams.

Happiness and warmth.
As loves final vow.
Dreams of marriage and family.
Take over now.

Travel and adventures.
Dreams of far away lands.
Hope for loved ones.
All come back to play again.

Dont let the dreaming end.

Anger

Heart pounding strongly.
Blood begins to boil.
Skin feels hot from within.
As uncontrollable feelings begin.

Headaches become blinding.
Quickening breath like hyperventilating.
Tears surface at the brim of release.
The feelings slowly increase.

No known cause can be determined.
So many questions of why?
Where do these feelings surface from?
My unexplainable anger.

Heartbroken

Secret crushes and hidden love.
Never to be announced.
Feelings held deep inside.
Slowly breaking the heart.

Always your shoulder.
Letting tears fall.
Listening ever so intently.
To the love you want so badly.

Though Im here.
It seems invisible to your eyes.
My heart aches.
Wanting to be by your side.

Impossibilities stemming from reality.
We are never meant to be.
The final arrow has been shot.
Heart shattering completely.

Hidden Lies

Friends forever.
Two simple words.
So much meaning.
But is it an illusion?

Unbreakable bond.
An invisible string.
It carries such power.
Is there such a thing?

Complete understanding.
Comprehending every whim.
Trust and faith.
Is it all a myth?

Fairytales and make believe.
All stories with happy endings.
Faces constantly smiling.
But is this truly reality?

Selfish Girl

Selfish girl without a care.
Given all a person could bare.
Taking greedily without a word.
Blindly killing hearts and souls.

Selfish girl without any morals.
Bounce from bed to bed.
Destroying images and beliefs.
Until the last heart can no longer beat.

Selfish girl all alone.
Wonders where all her friends have gone.
She looks upon the earthen ground.
Bleeding corpses all around.

Selfish girl full of tears.
Yelling up to heavens clouds.
Anger and full of rage she questions.
How could you leave me all alone!

Onesided Friendship

Once friends now nothing.
One side fighting.
The other not caring.
Tears falling all around.

How long can the one fight.
How long can the other ignore.
Who will push the other into submission.
Who will end the one sided war.

After months of being uncared for.
The fighter walks away.
Still looks back hoping.
But the other is far away.

Uncaring friend.
I tried to the very end.
Though our friendship was one sided.
That one side cared as if it were whole.

A Chapter Closed

Lights become brighter.
The tunnel nears an end.
The path finally unwinds.
Another chapter closed.

What is left now.
The next step so unclear.
Books have been read.
Tests passed.

Still an emptiness.
Moving on from friends to the unknown.
Completely left all alone.
What does following the right path bring?

Sisters

A friendship blossoms into something more.
Sisters not by blood but by heart.
Caring, comforting, always there.
Never will we part.

Fights turn into silly laughter.
Hugs take all the sad tears away.
As time goes by our bond grows stronger.
Sisters we remain always.

One more year gone in a flash.
More grown up, more mature.
A sister to be proud of is who you are.
A treasured sister forever more.

*Written for a friend on her birthday.

Friendship

Friendship is simple.
It is given with a smile.
Openly, never wanting in return.

Friendship is warm.
It fills our hearts completely.
Healing old wounds and fading scars.

Friendship is remarkable.
Two souls sharing lifes little moments.
Fighting away the sadness with laughter.

Friendship is eternal
Never-ending, an unbreakable bond.
As it grows while we age together.

Our friendship is cherished.
Never to be forgotten.
Forever held dear to my heart.

*This poem was written for a friend on his birthday

Shadows

Lost in the shadows.
Dark as night.
Chills and shivers.
Numb deep inside.

Haunting images.
Creations of the mind.
Looming closer.
Constraining ones cries.

Deep in the shadows.
One soul remains.
The soul of a child.
Slowly dieing within.

Shadows suffocate the child.
Consuming the mind.
The child gives up.
Disappearing into the cold night.

All laughter is gone.
Not a single tear is shed.
Thanks to the shadows,
Inside ones head.

A Plea for Help

Chest feels heavy.
Lungs give way to the pressure.
Throat closes off.
Breathing ceases to exist.
The result of suffocation.

Nothingness cultivates in the pit of a stomach.
Sitting there like a rock.
Churning and turning the nausea grows.
Feeling sick with every touch.
The result of emptiness.

Head pounding with every heart beat.
Pressure building as noise rises to deafening tones.
Dizziness amounts from lights all around.
The room begins to spin on its own.
The result of bewilderment.

The soul is now lost.
The heart feels nothing.
No more breathing, no more thinking.
Nothing exists on the outside.
No one is left on the inside.

The result of complete unhappiness.

The Rose

The dead of winter takes the life of spring.
No more flowers blooming beneath the sun.
The earth frozen underneath the pale snow.
Yet a single rose stands alone.

A blizzard forms showing winters fury.
Cold winds blow as more snow falls.
Ice forms on the single rose.
Alas it still stands tall.

The rose remains as if untouched.
Never showing signs of wilting.
As new as its first day of life.
The everlasting rose.

*This poem was incorporated in my finished story titled Destiny.

Escape

You're eyes look at me full of lust.
You're lips become twisted.
You're exposed to me with pride and glory,
As you laugh at my reaction.

My body begins to shake and tremble.
My skin starts to crawl with disgust.
My legs begin to give way,
As I avert my eyes from fright.

You approach me with words of filth.
I back away in rebuke.
You reach for me and try to grab.
But I turn and run away never to come back.

Years later you still haunt my thoughts.
I can still feel the fire on my skin.
The images still disturb me.
Will I ever escape these memories?

Numb

The overwhelming sadness takes over.
The words of death consume the mind.
Memories fly in front of my eyes.
All in the past is where we reside.

Harder I sob for you, screaming in agony.
Guilt and anger keep the sadness company.
My face is drenched in salty tears.
I begin to rock, as I think back over the years.

My voice is gone now, words unspoken.
My head is throbbing with every beat of my heart.
Soon I feel what I truly seek, the numbness seeping in.
Into my heart, mind, and soul, where I remain alone.

*Written after my kitty of 10 years passed away from cancer. RIP Ginger baby!

Change

With time comes change.
The leaves of the trees.
The course of a storm.
The mind and heart.

Though we may part now.
It shall not be forever.
The wind will return you to me.
So we can be together.

It may not seem plausible.
Though we may change.
As the years pass us by.
But remember one thing.

In our hearts, together we remain.

Death

Pale as the snow.
Coldness spreads.
No breath, nor heart beat.
An overwhelming silence.

No more thoughts.
Worries are absent.
The voices finally cease.
A peaceful rest.

Loved ones live on.
Memories as a constant companion.
Nothing can fill the emptiness.
Grief is the only guidance.

Death is what we all become.

Alone

No sound to be heard.
Stillness surrounds me.
Darkness creeps near.
Its coming for me.

I call out.
No one responds.
The light begins to dim.
I shiver from the emptiness.

Alone again.
Nothing has changed.
Alone is the only thing,
That stays the same.

Reality

A tear rolls down my cheek.
It drips upon a cloud.
I lay there, staring.
Thoughts buzzing with no sound.

It hurts to think.
Yet my mind never sleeps.
It hurts to smile.
But its more painful to cry.

Why is it my dreamland is so somber.
It used to be my only escape.
But dark clouds loam.
No sunshine to be found.

Reality has taken over now.

Nothing

You stare at me with cold eyes.
A blank look upon your face.
Hints of laughter in the air.
I'm just a disgrace.

You talk down to me.
I just turn red in embarrassment.
You turn away.
I look down in shame.

Everyday its all the same.
Why am I such a failure?
No matter how hard I try.
I'm nothing in your eyes.

Words Unspoken

You are in my thoughts.
A constant reminder.
Always there with a smile.
To comfort and soothe.

My heart beats full.
With hope and wonder.
Wanting to hear,
How you truly feel.

If only my thoughts could speak.
And yours reply.
Then there would be no need,
To say these words unspoken.

Unrequited

You leave me breathless with only a smile.
My skin tingles as your eyes find mine.
The slightest whisper and I melt.
What is this feeling inside?

My heart aches when Im not with you.
I long for you to hold me once again.
Why must we part with words unspoken.
Could it be Im alone?

Now I see you smiling once again.
A smile not for me.
A smile of love and devotion.
That pains my unrequited heart.

Invisible

I see you.
You don't see me.
I smile at you.
You just ignore.

You confuse me so.
We were so close.
I gave you all of me.
My heart and more.

But now I am a memory.
One you want to erase.
Till all there is just nothingness.
Just an invisible girl.

Happiness

I'm falling fast.
No one to catch me.
No soft gentle landing.
Without a care in the world.

This feeling inside.
Has been absent too long.
I almost forgot how it felt.
Complete happiness.

Though it may not be,
Equally shared.
Ill keep it inside.
And bare it.

For all I feel is happiness.

Accident

Tears fall like rain.
Washing the blood away.
Ears numb to the sound.
Lights flashing all around.

As you cry out his name.
Your skin pales to snowy white.
Eyes glossed over.
Head feels heavy upon ones shoulder.

A voice whispers within your mind.
Hush please don't cry.
Though my heart may beat no longer.
I remain in yours always and forever.

Lost

The quiet darkness encases her.
Suffocating till no breath exists.
Lonely and tired of fighting.
Lost within an unease mind.

The light grows dimmer still.
The wind flees in disgust.
Nothing touches the lost little girl,
That rests deep within.

There she will remain.
Too blind to see her way.
Invisible to the world around her.
A lost and lonely soul.

Troubled

I give.
You take.

I only ask for little.

Help along the way.

Empty inside.

I come to you.

Pleading for guidance.

Yet you turn away.

Used and abused.

Still empty and alone.

You return and I hope.

But in the end I give some more
.

True Love

Your eyes hold mine in waiting.
Revealing yourself to me.
Neither lies nor uncertainty.
Forever we will be.

I feel your lips gently brush the ones you seek.
As we consensually agree.
Many emotions consume us both.
As together we fall as one.

Skin against skin, I feel your warmth.
Hearts beating in a syncopated rhythm.
Your hand grabs for mine.
Loves eternal promise.

You are everything to me

Mother and Child

I was there for you.
Took care of you.
Helped support you.
Cried for you.
All these years.

I gave it all up for you.
Stayed around for you.
Could never leave you.
Never would cry in front of you.
Only showed my smile.

Now where are you?
I need you.
Even when I look around I don't see you.
How could it be like there was no you?
You were my mother and I was your child.
